A Series of Five Workshops Using Vision Stories to Transform Our Being
"I believe there is something in...stories that does what singing does to words. They have transformational capabilities…They can’t transform your actual situation, but they can transform your experience of it…I believe we have always…used images to stand and understand what otherwise would be intolerable." “What It Is” by Lynda Barry
It can often feel that we’re searching for life’s real treasures without a map, trying to find our way through a deep mine equipped with only a pickax and a tiny miner’s headlamp.
The truth is that each of us is blessed with an enormous reservoir of creative energy. The challenge is to access the powerful abilities of our creative self and learn to use them to enrich our base of inner knowledge and wisdom.
These five workshops will feature highly enjoyable activities designed to stimulate creative powers and increase abilities to clarify thinking, transform unwanted preconditioned patterns of feeling, behaving and thinking, and guide us on our way to the many personal treasures waiting to be discovered. Some of the life issues and qualities to be addressed include: understanding the importance of timing, patience, forgiveness, stubbornness, resistance, trust, fear, courage, generosity, innocence, surrender, humor, and of course, love.
Each workshop will begin with Kay reading a different vision story or excerpt of a story, followed by meditation, creative activities and discussion to enable us each to grow in understanding and insight regarding the life qualities and challenges offered in the story. More than one story may be shared during each workshop, depending on available time.
Each Workshop is $28. A person may sign up for all of the workshops, or for each individual workshop.
Pre-registration is required.
Dates & Times: Sunday 2:00-5:00 pm, Jan 11, Jan 25, Feb 8, Mar 1, & Mar 15.
