Brushdance
For ten years Brush Dance has been one of the reasons we love our products. Their name explains why. "Brush Dance" was inspired by the story of a young Yurok trying to understand the meaning and importance of a healing ritual called the brush dance. As the boy's uncle carefully and patiently fixed his headdress for the last night of the dance, the young boy asked him why he was spending so much time on it. After all, the dance was at night and nobody would notice if his headdress needed to be repaired. His uncle replied, “But I will know. How could I respect myself if I only went halfway, or three quarters of the way to help someone? If I'm not going to help all the way, it is better that I don't go to the dance." That's Brush Dance. Every card, journal and piece of art they make reflects their standard of excellence and their determination to be true to themselves and all they create. Brush Dance's journals are approximately 7 ½" by 8 ½" in size with 50 blank pages to fill with hopes and dreams or maybe just the day's chores.
